That might be the case for them but for me I have not modded the game yet so I dont think that is the problem these records are still not fully understood and so players using those mods do it with risk of savegame corruption. Many mod author use unsupported tools to create data from anew by copying and modifing existing records in the main master file. This happens when you apply unofficial modification to a game which yet has no support to be modified. Uninstalling a mod won't delete certain "baked" data from your savegames.
